In-Game Timeline
The following is a time-line of noted events in the Seattle area:
Before 1850 - Duwamish and Salish Native Americans, including some mages of the Spirit-Talker Fellowship and some werewolves of the Wendigo Tribe, occupied about 13 villages throughout the area. Mostly Gaian spirits inhabited the spiritworld with the occasional Weaver or Wyrm spirit, and Wraith. Aside from rare visits from Croatan (before their demise) and Uktena, no other supernatural creatures were present (or made themselves known). 1850 - arrival of the Denny party, the first settlers, and the beginning of logging. More Weaver and Wyrm spirits come with the settlers. 1856 - in response to the heavy logging by the settlers, the Native Americans engaged in a pitch battle known as the Battle of Seattle. 1869 - Seattle is incorporated as a town complete with a steam sawmill on the waterfront surrounded by various businesses with a population of approximately 1,000. Weaver and Wyrm spirits begin flooding the area. The first Hermetic mages and Silent Strider werewolves arrive. 1884 - the Great Northern railway is completed opening the gateway for the supernatural, including vampires, to make their way to Seattle. 1889 - Fire destroys 29 blocks of downtown Seattle. At this time, vampire control of the city was not dedicated to any Sect. 1890 - the recovery from the Fire was quick and new brick buildings were constructed. With a population of 40,000 mortals, Aidan Clark of the Ventrue Clan claimed Seattle for the Camarilla, resulting in conflicts from vampires who enjoyed the 'Wild West' feel of Seattle as far as vampire politics was concerned. 1929 - the Great Depression cripples the massive migration and economic boom Seattle enjoyed for the last 40 years leading to chaos in the streets amongst the mortals. The Sabbat uses this distraction to kill the Camarilla prince and claim Seattle as a Sabbat city under the rule of Archbishop, Melonee Tomas. While the Independent Clans such as Ravnos, Setites and Giovanni remained in Seattle, many Camarilla Clans left the city. 1944 - with World War II, the economy recovered and so did the financial backing the Camarilla needed to reclaim Seattle as their own. Their efforts paid off and Judy Wilson of Clan Brujah was named Prince. At this point, Bone Gnawers and Glass Walkers made up the werewolf population in Seattle, Order of Hermes and Celestial Chorus made up the majority of the mages, and the spiritworld was teeming with Weaver and Wyrm spirits, and the souls of the dead. 1996 - Seattle has settled into its own and so has the supernatural presence. Familiar conflicts occur amongst the vampires, werewolves, mage, and spirits, as well as amongst themselves. By this time, changling appearances have been noted as well as at least one demon. The Camarilla has enjoyed a 52 year reign over the Seattle, its districts and surrounding cities. While the Camarilla actively fended off Sabbat take-over attempts, the Sect tolerated the presence of the Independent Clans. However, the Independents worked quietly to usurp Camarilla rule with each Clan playing their part, whether they knew it or not. Finally, one night the Camarilla Prince Judy Wilson disappeared, and Garrett 'Keeper' Richardson claimed Princedom and declared Seattle an Independent territory. July 2010 - Keeper, now ruler of Seattle, decided to open a nightclub where vampires can be vampires and it is called Club Crimson. Even though Keeper's position and unlife was threatened, the potential usurpers were dispatched and the vampires enjoyed their evening at Club Crimson. Back to Gameworld |
