Brawl Skill
The Cutter
Buy at Badger's Den
A brawler weapon is represented by a foam boffer that must meet the following specifications:
  • Color must be BLACK
  • Boffer must have a core
  • 'Blade' length 12 - 16 inches
  • Overall length 16 - 20 inches
  • 'Blade' tip must be padded with at least 2 inches of foam
Foam latex weapons are preferred, but duct tape boffers are allowed upon approval. Store bought latex weapons are pre-approved, while ALL homemade weapons must be checked by Logistics.

If your Brawler boffer does not meet the above specifications, you will be asked not to use that weapon and may be loaned a Brawler boffer from the Biomechine Inventory, when available, to use for the event.

Firearm Skill
Steampunked Nerf Maverick
Buy stock Nerf at Target
Any character can use firearms represented by a foam shooter that must meet the following specifications:
  • Must be painted realistic colors (steampunk is accepted). Parts may be added for looks only.
  • No part of the original function can be modified in any way *. Stock out-of-the-box ONLY.
  • Do not attach multiple guns together.
In short, any Air Zone, Buzz Bee or Nerf brand foam shooter that has not been functionally modified is allowed. Modified functionality not only gives an unfair advantage in combat, but also become safety risks in a game meant to be safe and fun for all.

If your foam shooter does not meet the above specifications, you will be asked not to use that weapon and may be loaned a Maverick from the Biomechine Inventory, when available, to use for the event.

* The Nerf Maverick's barrel can be modified to open out all the way. This is the only modification to the stock function of a foam shooter allowed.
Melee Skill
Lead Pipe
Buy at Full Moon Masks

Hand Axe
Buy at Badger's Den
Any character can use one melee weapon at a time represented by a foam boffer that must meet the following specifications:
  • Must be realistic colors (steampunk is accepted), but cannot be black
  • Boffer must have a core
  • 'Blade' length 12 - 32 inches
  • Overall length 16 - 36 inches
  • 'Blade' tip must be padded with at least 2 inches of foam
Foam latex weapons are preferred, but duct tape boffers are allowed upon approval. Store bought latex weapons are pre-approved, while ALL homemade weapons must be checked by Logistics.

The Nerf Warlock Axe is allowed (please color over the yellow).

The Nerf Long Sword is NOT allowed because it exceeds the 36-inch overall length limit.

If your melee boffer does not meet the above specifications, you will be asked not to use that weapon and may be loaned a melee boffer from the Biomechine Inventory, when available, to use for the event.
Duct Tape Boffers
Duct tape boffers are inexpensive, usually homemade, weapons made of kite spar, foam and duct tape and used to represent Brawler, melee and throwing weapons.

A How-To-Make-a-Boffer is not provided because to be honest, the Organizer would like to discourage the use of these kinds of weapons. Why? They don't look good. Latex weapons look very realistic and contribute to the visual atmosphere of the game.

If you know how to make a duct tape boffer and really can't afford a latex weapon, you are welcome to do so as long as the finished product meets the requirements listed above.

ALL duct tape boffers must be checked at Logistics before use.

Duct tape boffers accepted at other LARPs in the Pacific Northwest region are accepted at Frontiers as long as they meet the requirements listed above.
