Characters

Why You Need a Character

Each Frontiers participant contributes to the story and action of the game through the persona's, or character's, he or she plays creating intense, dynamic scenes that can follow any course of action as directed by the players involved.

You may create up to four characters that you use to portray both the protagonist and antagonist, the hero and the villain. There are no Player Characters (PC) or Non-Player Characters (NPC), you play your own script and contribute to the overall story and action!

Sorry, observers are not permitted, but it is easy to create a character and play! Check out the Rulebook for details.

Options Overview Humans are not the only creatures in Frontiers. Delve into mad science or the supernatural with:
  • Golems: the living creations of flesh and steam reanimated with science.

  • Spirits: the strange denizens from the unseen realms called to earth with magic.
Occupations: aside from the well-known occupations of the Wild West (deputy, saloon girl, prospector, doctor, etc), there are many 19th century occupations to choose from.
  • The Sheriff and Mayor are determined during game-play at events.

  • Steam Scientists and Occultists have a unique-to-Frontiers background and social details you should read before playing.

  • Outlaws are the criminals of the Wild West and listed here.
Nationalities
Your character can be from anywhere known today, including Native American Indians, and you are encouraged to research how each found a place in 1861 of the American Wild West.
