Where to StartWelcome!Thank you for your interest in Frontiers! Whether you are an experienced LARPer or considering your first live action game, please continue reading to best prepare for this unique Wild West steampunk experience. What is a LARP? A Live Action Role-Play game, or LARP, can be simply described as a group of people participating in an improvisational theater where the participants are both the actors and the audience, each creating a persona to interact with other persona's. There are countless LARP genre's, styles, game rules, and points of view on this subject, but this Wikipedia entry is the most generic. How is Frontiers different? Frontiers is similar to other LARP games in that we play by a set of rules to facilitate inter-character conflicts in a fair manner, use foam weapons to resolve combat, and require all participants, aka players, to create a persona. Where Frontiers differs is that we do not have gamemasters (a group of individuals who control the interactive story of the game). Rather, each player contributes to the story in their own way through their personas creating intense, dynamic scenes that can follow any course of action as directed by the players involved. This is an important aspect of Frontiers to understand for you to have a fun time at the game because you make your own entertainment by interacting with other players. I want to play!
